This project symbolizes the rebirth of the iconic shopping center after it was tragically destroyed by fire. The design honors the spirit of Lapland, blending modern aesthetics with a warm, inviting atmosphere for both locals and travelers.

Nestled in the breathtaking fell region of Finnish Lapland, Saariselkä is a haven for adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts. Its tranquil landscapes and proximity to the Urho Kekkonen National Park make it one of Finland’s most popular wilderness destinations.

The revitalized Kuukkeli Shopping Centre is more than just a rebuilt landmark—it’s a testament to the resilience and renewal of the Saariselkä community. With modern facilities and expanded spaces, it hosts essential services such as a supermarket, Alko, and equipment rentals, alongside unique attractions like Bistro & Cafe Kuukkeli.

Bistro & Cafe Kuukkeli offers a stylish yet cozy retreat for visitors. Designed to reflect Lapland’s signature hospitality, the interiors feature natural materials, earthy tones, and a central fireplace that invites guests to relax and unwind. Whether stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, travelers can enjoy a diverse menu, featuring Roman-style sourdough pizza, Finnish meats, and locally sourced Pielinen fish. The in-house bakery, Kuukkelin Kotileipomo, adds a touch of artisanal charm with fresh bread and pastries.
