Originally opened in 1838, Kaivohuone is one of Helsinki’s most iconic entertainment venues, rich in history and tradition. In 2013, Visionary Design Partners Helsinki was commissioned to redesign and renovate both the interior spaces and the extensive outdoor terrace, breathing new life into the 175-year-old landmark while respecting its timeless character.

The renewed design combined classic elegance with a contemporary edge, enhancing the venue’s appeal for modern audiences. Indoors, refined materials and atmospheric lighting highlighted the building’s architectural heritage, while the revitalized terrace introduced a more dynamic social experience. New cabanas brought a sense of VIP exclusivity to the outdoors, offering guests private, comfortable spaces that echoed the sophistication of the interior.
