We are proud to present our visionary design project for Break Sokos Hotel Tahko, executed in two transformative phases in 2023 and 2024. Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Tahko, Finland, the destination offers an unforgettable combination of adventure, sports, and leisure activities, making it a year-round hub of excitement and relaxation. This project embodies a seamless blend of nature, modernity, and hospitality, redefining the guest experience.

Phase 1: Revitalizing the Original Hotel

In Spring 2023, the initial phase focused on renovating the original hotel building, including its accommodation capacity, conference and meeting facilities, and dining areas. Each redesigned space reflects a commitment to sustainability, comfort, and a multi-sensory experience.

The revamped restaurant area, featuring Restaurant Hillside, Pizza Breikki, and Hesburger, now exudes a living-room-style atmosphere with stunning courtyard and slope views. The accommodation options range from Standard Rooms for families to Superior X King Rooms with private balconies, catering to guests seeking both relaxation and indulgence.

Phase 2: Introducing a Bold New Wing

The second phase, completed in December 2024, saw the construction of a five-story new wing, further enhancing Break Sokos Hotel Tahko’s appeal. This expansion adds 60 new guest rooms, from Standard Rooms to luxurious suites, all designed to maximize the spectacular views of the slopes and surrounding nature.

The highlight of the new wing is the rooftop spa and sauna area, the first of its kind in Finland. This year-round retreat invites guests to unwind in pools and saunas, both indoors and on the terrace, while enjoying panoramic views of the slopes and lakes. Additional facilities include a fully equipped gym, a simulator room for interactive gaming, and expanded guest saunas.

A Design Inspired by Nature

Throughout the project, our design vision was to honor Tahko’s natural beauty while offering a luxurious yet inviting environment. The interiors incorporate natural materials, earthy tones, and thoughtful lighting, creating a sense of harmony with the surrounding landscapes.

This extensive transformation, supported by Osuuskauppa PeeÄssä’s 24 million euro investment, elevates Break Sokos Hotel Tahko into a full-service destination for travelers seeking unforgettable hospitality experiences. With its enhanced facilities and stunning design, the hotel now stands as a symbol of innovation, comfort, and the majestic beauty of Finnish Lakeland.
